April 2025
To prepare our Iowa Custody section for translation into Spanish, we revised all 32 questions for clarity and accuracy. We also created the new subsection Steps to file for custody to reorganize the steps into six separate questions, making it easier for users to find the information they need.
To prepare our Rhode Island Restraining Orders page for translation into Spanish, we reviewed and revised 17 questions for clarity in the following sections:
- Extreme Risk Protection Orders
- Moving to Another State with a Restraining Order
- Enforcing your Out-Of-State Order in Rhode Island
We also created one new question, Will I be notified before the order expires?, to explain law enforcement’s obligation to notify “interested parties” before an extreme risk protection order expires.
On our Abuse Using Technology page, we completely re-wrote all eight questions in our Electronic Surveillance and Impersonation sections with the help of NNEDV’s Safety Net team. We also created a new question in our Electronic Surveillance section called How can an abuser misuse electronic surveillance? Spanish translation coming soon.
March 2025
Based on new laws that took effect 1/1/25, we created three new questions and revised one question in our California Housing Laws section. Spanish coming soon!
