Atlantic County Bar Association
Bergen County Bar Association
The Lawyer Referral Service charges a $30 fee, which provides the client with a 30-minute consultation with a referred attorney.
Burlington County Bar Association
The Lawyer Referral Service can connect clients with attorneys in many different areas of law. The attorney will charge $35 for a 30-minute initial consultation. After the initial consultation, the attorney’s normal rates will apply. To obtain a referral, complete the online form or call the office.
Camden County Bar Association
The Bar Association offers lawyer referrals by legal area. The attorneys agree to charge no more than $30 for the initial consultation. For any services beyond the initial consultation, the client and attorney will discuss the fee. To obtain a referral, complete the online form or call the office.
Cape May County Bar Association
The Lawyer Referral Service can refer clients to a private attorney in a specific area of law. Clients will then have to contact the attorney directly, and fees apply. Email or call to obtain a referral.
Cumberland County Bar Association
Can give referrals to an attorney in the county based on the type of legal need. When calling the attorney to schedule a consultation, please let them know that you were referred by the Cumberland County Lawyer Referral Service. Consultation pricing is as follows: family law is $75 for a one-hour consultation, and any other type of law is $35 for a 30-minute consultation. Anything over the consultation time is an additional fee set by the attorney you are meeting with.
Essex County Bar Association
To obtain a referral, complete the online form or call the Lawyer Referral Service office. If you call, bilingual staff (English/Spanish) will interview you to determine the nature of your legal need and provide the referral. Attorneys charge a $25 consultation fee for the first 30 minutes. After the initial consultation, the attorney’s normal rates will apply.
Gloucester County Bar Association
The Gloucester County Lawyer Referral Service can refer clients to a private attorney in a specific area of the law. A nominal fee will be charged for a 20-minute consultation. Additional time may be charged at the attorney’s normal rate. To obtain a referral, call the Lawyer Referral Service.
Hudson County Bar Association
The Hudson County Bar Association (HCBA) charges a $35 fee for a referral to up to three attorneys. When calling the attorney to schedule a consultation, please let them know that you were referred by the HCBA Lawyer Referral Service. The attorney’s fees are not discounted.
Hunterdon County Bar Association
The Lawyer Referral Service can connect clients with an attorney in a specific area of law. The first 10 minutes on the phone with the attorney are free. For the first hour consultation, the lawyer will charge a $75 fee, payable to the Lawyer Referral Service. Obtain a referral by calling, emailing, or completing the online form.
Mercer County Bar Association
The Lawyer Referral Service offers free referrals. Depending on the type of case, the client will be charged $25 by the attorney for the first 30 minutes of the consultation, which does not include the preparation of any documents. Middlesex County Bar Association
To obtain a referral, complete the online form or call the Lawyer Referral Service office. If you call, a staff member will interview you to determine the nature of your legal need and provide the referral. The initial 30-minute consultation will cost no more than $35 and, depending on the type of case, it may be free. After the initial consultation, the attorney’s normal rates will apply.
Monmouth Bar Association
The Bar Association can provide a free referral to an attorney in a specific area of law. You will need to discuss the fees directly with the attorney. To obtain a referral, call or email the Referral Program.
Morris County Bar Association
The Lawyer Referral Service can refer individuals to a lawyer by area of law. The lawyer may charge a maximum of $50 for a 30-minute consultation; after that, the lawyer’s regular fees apply. You can also apply for the Reduced Fee Referral Program, which is available to individuals in Morris and Sussex counties who do not qualify for free legal services but who cannot afford to hire an attorney. Individuals who meet the income requirements will be referred to an attorney who may represent them at a reduced rate. To apply for the program, complete the online form and pay the $30 application fee.
Ocean County Bar Association
The Ocean County Bar Association can provide a referral to several lawyers in your geographic area. There is no fee for this service. For a referral, please call the office.
Passaic County Bar Association
Can provide a free referral to a lawyer by practice area, language spoken, location, and if they are licensed to practice law in states other than New Jersey. The lawyer will charge a $50 consultation fee for the first 30 minutes, and additional time must be discussed with the lawyer.
Salem County Bar Association

Somerset County Bar Association

Union County Bar Association
