Laws current as of November 13, 2025 What is the legal definition of harassment in Oklahoma?
Harassment is when a family or household member or someone you have had a dating relationship with deliberately acts in a way that:
- is directed specifically at you;
- is not done for a good reason (“no legitimate purpose”);
- seriously annoys or alarms you; and
- reasonably causes you serious emotional harm (“substantial emotional distress”).1
Things like harassing or obscene phone calls and causing fear of death or bodily injury could be considered harassment.2
