Where can I find additional resources?
WomensLaw.org has various resources that might be useful to you:
- State-specific divorce information. You can see the information we have for your state by selecting it from the drop-down menu on the left.
- Download Court Forms section. For most states, you can find the online divorce court forms by selecting your state from the drop-down menu on the left.
- Quick Guides. You can download these short, straightforward resources on specific topics, including divorce, preparing for court, as well as custody, visitation, and child support.
- Videos. WomensLaw.org has 32 brief videos on topics including:
- Custody, Visitation, and Child Support
- Divorce (These are recorded in Spanish, with English subtitles.)
- Preparing for Court (These are recorded in Spanish, with English subtitles.)
- Preparing for Court- By Yourself section. This section is written specifically to give people representing themselves a general understanding of the legal processes in court. It includes information on: virtual hearings, gathering evidence, discovery, presenting your case, objections, and appeals.
Also, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges has a free, in-depth information packet called “Managing Your Divorce: A Guide for Battered Women.” This guide is available in different languages, including English and Spanish. Although it was published in 2010, you may find it helpful, especially if you need to represent yourself in your divorce.
