What is the legal definition of extreme psychological abuse?

Extreme psychological abuse is a series of actions that:

  • are done intentionally or on purpose;
  • are directed at you specifically;
  • seriously disturb or continually bother you;
  • have no reasonable purpose; and
  • would cause a reasonable person extreme emotional distress.1
