Laws current as of September 16, 2025 What is the legal definition of extreme psychological abuse?
Extreme psychological abuse is a series of actions that:
- are done intentionally or on purpose;
- are directed at you specifically;
- seriously disturb or continually bother you;
- have no reasonable purpose; and
- would cause a reasonable person extreme emotional distress.1
