REACH of Macon County offers services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, assistance with protective orders and victim’s compensation, legal aid referrals, court and medical accompaniment, violence prevention education, youth advocacy, safety planning, and crisis counseling, The REACH shelter has kennel services on-site for the pets of clients. Remote advocates can meet victims who live in geographically isolated areas in a safe location in their community. All services available in English and Spanish. Serving Macon County.

My Sister’s Place provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Madison County. Services include: a 24-our crisis line, emergency safe house for victims and their children, counseling, court advocacy support, support groups, children’s programs, community education, and information and referrals. Emergency room advocates are available 24 hours a day to provide support and information to victims of sexual assault.
McDowell
New HOPE of McDowell
New HOPE of McDowell, formerly Family Services of McDowell County, provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the community. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, case management, court advocacy, assistance filing protective orders, legal referrals, support groups, safety panning, counseling, and more.
Mecklenburg
Domestic Violence Services
Provides services to adults and children affected by domestic violence and dating abuse. Services include: individual and group therapy and counseling, case management, personal advocacy, children’s support and education, batterer intervention program, prevention programs, and community education. They also have a Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Center, which can be reached by phone for an intake interview. Services available in Spanish (Programa Confianza) and other languages with interpreters. Serving Mecklenburg County.
Safe Alliance – Lake Norman Office
Safe Alliance provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Mecklenburg County. Services of the Lake Norman location include: a 24-hour hotline, safety panning, crisis management, case management, advocacy, support groups for adults and children, and they can connect victims to court advocates and their shelter. Safe Alliance offers services to persons of all genders, races, religions, languages, and countries, regardless of immigration status. They are able to offer services to clients in their native language, including but not limited to Spanish, French, Arabic, Burmese, Nepali, and Vietnamese.
Safe Alliance – Uptown Charlotte Office
Safe Alliance provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Mecklenburg County. Services of the Uptown Charlotte location include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter, sexual trauma resource center, court accompaniment, assistance filing protective orders, legal representation by pro-bono attorneys, individual/couple/family counseling, play therapy for children, and support groups for adult and teens. The shelter has apartment-style suites for families and units for single adults, support groups, children’s programs, life skills, career planning, basic needs, and more.
