Provides free and confidential 24- hour emergency services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; offers crisis and long term counseling, temporary emergency shelter, legal advocacy, referrals to social service agencies, support groups, emotional support, and community outreach programs.
Hopeful Horizons is a children’s advocacy, domestic violence and rape crisis center. The following services are offered: shelter, legal assistance, court advocacy, adult counseling, children’s counseling, case management services and family support to families on both in-house and outreach basis, mental health treatment, victim advocacy, and forensic interviews, crisis counseling, and law enforcement partnerships and educational programs. Hopeful Horizons’ Legal Department provides survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault with free legal representation. This includes appearances in Family Court for matters related to divorce, custody, visitation, child support, separate maintenance and support and equitable distribution of matters. They also assist with the filing of Orders of Protection and Restraining Orders. Additionally survivors are provided with legal advice and representation in other civil court matters, as well as accompaniment by our legal staff to criminal and bond hearings. Hopeful Horizons serves Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Jasper and Hampton Counties.
